Tensions and distrust are running high with U.S. President Donald Trump admitting that things are not going well with Russia, especially after the strike against Syria following Assad’s alleged use of chemical weapons.
It is believed that more than half of the 59 tomahawk missiles fired did not hit Syria.
“Right now we’re not getting along with Russia at all,” Trump has said during a White House news conference. “It’d be a fantastic thing if we got along with Putin and if we got along with Russia,” Trump said.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had previously given similar sentiments after a lengthy meeting with Vladimir Putin, saying the two countries had reached a “low point” in relations.
Russia has stated that it wants the U.S. to remove sanctions on Moscow, which were put in place after its 2014 annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea region.
