A woman aged in her 20s has been shot by police after they stormed a property in a counter-terrorism operation in Willesden, north-west London. The woman, who was the subject of a police counter terrorism investigation, was shot after armed officers entered the Harlesden Road address before 7pm local time.
She was taken to hospital where she remains under police guard. Police said her condition is serious but stable.
This news comes just hours after a man suspected of planning a terror attack was arrested while allegedly carrying knives at Whitehall near the UK Houses of Parliament. Police have however stated that the two incidents were unrelated.
Four other people have been arrested in the raid; among them was a 20-year-old man, located near the address, and a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old woman.
