TransCanada has confirmed a leak in the controversial Keystone pipeline that runs between Canada and America.

Whilst cleanup efforts are currently in place, concerns that oil could contaminate water supplies have been raised.

According to a company statement, emergency measures are taking place and that the pipe section has been “completely isolated”

Several pipeline sections have been shut down with over 500 barrels of oil confirmed to have leaked in an area captured by aerial patrol.
