North Korea’s Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho has told the United Nations it is “inevitable” that Pyongyang will target the US mainland, after President Donald Trump’s comments about North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un
Mr Ri has said the US president is a “mentally deranged person full of megalomania and complacency”, and that he is “chastised even by the American people as ‘Commander in Grief, ‘Lying King’, ‘President Evil’.
The UN speech came after US Air Force bombers, escorted by fighter jets, flew in international airspace over waters east of North Korea.
The tension has raised after a small earthquake was recorded, with fears that it was the result of another test. Mr Ri did not respond when asked by reporters whether North Korea had conducted a new nuclear test. China’s Earthquake Administration experts have claimed the earthquake was likely natural and had the features of a natural tremor.
